     Accounting I: Policy Sheet

Accounting I is a full year elective course. This course prepares students for entry level positions in accounting. Students study the following:

  • Journalization and posting of business transactions
  • The accounting cycle
  • Reconciliation of bank statements
  • Ethical business practices
  • Payroll
  • Bad debt
  • Depreciation
  • Three types of business ownership
  • Spreadsheet analysis using the computer

     Accounting II: Policy Sheet

Accounting II is a full year elective course. This course helps prepare students for careers in accounting upon graduation. In addition, it prepares students to major in some aspect of business in college. Students study the following:

  • Departmental and payroll accounting
  • Updating accounts by adjustment
  • Detailed partnership and corporation accounting
  • Basic cost accounting
  • Ethical business practices
  • A working knowledge of spreadsheet software

     Consumer Economics: Policy Sheet

Consumer Economics is a full year elective course. This course provides an understanding of the economic system and the consumers role in the economy. Students study the following:

  • Consumer role in production and advertising
  • Consumer purchasing decisions
  • Consumer protection
  • Deception and fraud
  • Online purchases
  • Choosing a career
  • Tax deductions and filing
  • Government spending and taxes
  • Budgets
